What is PH13-8Mo Stainless Steel?
PH13-8Mo (UNS S13800, W.Nr. 1.4534) is a martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel that offers an exceptional combination of high strength, excellent toughness, and superior corrosion resistance. The alloy is double vacuum melted (VIM-VAR: vacuum induction melting followed by vacuum arc remelting) to consistently ensure low gas content, improved homogeneity, and superior cleanliness.
PH13-8Mo offers better mechanical properties in demanding environmental conditions compared to other ferrous-based materials. PH13-8Mo provides excellent strength, corrosion resistance, and toughness at both room and elevated temperatures, with superior resistance to stress-corrosion cracking and high fracture toughness. Strength is imparted to the material through aging treatment, with tensile strength ranging from 931 MPa in H1150 condition up to 1517 MPa in H950 — some of the highest figures in wrought stainless steels.
