Meeting Global Standards: A Deep Dive into Our API 6ACRA-2015 Standard Alloy 925

2025-09-11

ZYTC Alloy is proud to announce the successful completion and delivery of a significant order of Alloy 925 round bar to Romania. This shipment, featuring a 36mm diameter product, underscores our commitment to serving the global market with precision-engineered materials that meet the most stringent international standards, specifically the API 6ACRA-2015 for corrosion-resistant alloys.

At ZYTC Alloy, our philosophy is built on a foundation of standardization, process-driven manufacturing, and specialized expertise. Every production run, from raw material selection to final inspection, follows a rigorously controlled workflow. This ensures that every meter of Alloy 925 Bar we produce delivers consistent, reliable, and certifiable performance for our clients' most critical applications.

Understanding Alloy 925 (UNS N09925)

Alloy 925 is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy strengthened by the additions of molybdenum and copper, and further enhanced by titanium. It is specifically designed to offer exceptional resistance to corrosion, including stress-corrosion cracking and pitting in demanding environments, particularly those containing sulfides and chlorides.

Key Specifications per API 6ACRA-2015 & ASTM B425:

Chemical Composition:
The composition of Alloy 925 is meticulously controlled to ensure optimal performance. Key elements include:

  • Nickel (Ni): 42 - 46%

  • Chromium (Cr): 19.5 - 22.5%

  • Iron (Fe): Balance

  • Molybdenum (Mo): 2.5 - 3.5%

  • Copper (Cu): 1.5 - 3.0%

  • Titanium (Ti): 0.6 - 1.2%

  • Carbon (C): 0.03% max

  • Silicon (Si): 0.5% max

  • Manganese (Mn): 1.0% max

  • Sulfur (S): 0.03% max

  • Aluminum (Al): 0.1 - 0.5%

Mechanical Properties For Alloy 925:
Alloy 925 provides an excellent combination of high strength and toughness.

  • Tensile Strength: 100 ksi (690 MPa) min

  • Yield Strength (0.2% Offset): 50 ksi (345 MPa) min

  • Elongation: 30% min

  • Hardness: Typically 200-240 HB

Primary Applications:
Due to its robust properties, Alloy 925 is the material of choice for severe service conditions across industries:

  • Oil & Gas: Downhole components, tubing hangers, valves, pumps, and fasteners for sour gas (H2S) environments.

  • Chemical Processing: Equipment like reactors, heat exchangers, and Pipes handling acidic catalysts.

  • Marine Engineering: Components exposed to seawater and saline atmospheres.

  • Pollution Control: Scrubbers and systems handling aggressive waste streams.
