About Alloy
The Inconel 690(UNS N06690, 2.4642) is primarily composed of nickel, with a high chromium content that provides excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion in various environments. It also contains small amounts of molybdenum, iron, and other elements to further enhance its properties. This alloy is particularly well-suited for applications where exposure to high temperatures, aggressive chemicals, and thermal cycling is expected.
One of the key features of Inconel 690 is its exceptional resistance to corrosion. It exhibits excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive media, including sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid, and other highly oxidizing environments. This makes it suitable for applications in chemical processing, petrochemical, and nuclear industries.
Inconel 690 also demonstrates excellent high-temperature strength and thermal stability. It retains its mechanical properties at elevated temperatures, making it suitable for use in furnace components, radiant tubes, thermocouple sheaths, and other heat-treating equipment.
Furthermore, Inconel 690 offers good resistance to stress-corrosion cracking, which is a common issue in high-temperature environments. This makes it a reliable choice for applications where the alloy is subjected to both mechanical stress and corrosive conditions.
Due to its unique combination of corrosion resistance, high-temperature strength, and resistance to stress-corrosion cracking, Inconel 690 finds applications in diverse industries such as chemical processing, nuclear power, and thermal processing. It is commonly used in equipment such as heat exchangers, process piping, reactors, and incinerators.
Overall, Inconel 690 is a highly specialized alloy that provides excellent resistance to corrosion, oxidation, and stress-corrosion cracking in high-temperature environments. Its unique properties make it an ideal choice for demanding applications that require exceptional performance and reliability.
Excellent inoxidability in the high temperature.
Good resistance to carbonizing.
Good inoxidabilitiy in sulfur atmosphere
Good mechanical property in both room temperature and high temperature.
Good resistance to stress corrosion cracking, 690 have high creep rupture strength since it limits the carbon content and grain size, so recommend to use for above 500℃ environment.
