About Alloy
Stainless steel F51(UNS S31803), also known as duplex stainless steel F51, is a type of stainless steel alloy that is highly resistant to corrosion, making it suitable for various applications in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and marine environments.
F51 is part of the duplex stainless steel family, which consists of a combination of austenite and ferrite crystal structures. This unique microstructure gives duplex stainless steel its exceptional strength and corrosion resistance properties. The F51 grade specifically refers to the composition and characteristics of this particular duplex stainless steel alloy.
One of the key features of stainless steel F51 is its excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, which are common in chloride-containing environments. This makes it highly suitable for use in applications where exposure to corrosive substances or saltwater is prevalent. F51 also exhibits high strength, good weldability, and a balanced combination of mechanical properties.
F51 Duplex Stainless Steel combines improved resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, crevice corrosion and high strength. Due to it's chemical composition F51 duplex stainless steel resists chloride environments and sulphide stress corrosion.
