Alloy 903/UNS N19903

    About Alloy

Incoloy 903 is a high-performance nickel-chromium-iron alloy that stands out for its exceptional resistance to a wide range of corrosive environments, particularly those containing chloride ions. It is known for its excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, making it suitable for demanding applications in harsh conditions like seawater, acidic or alkaline solutions, and high-temperature water.
The alloy's composition typically includes around 45% nickel, 22% chromium, and 28% iron, with additions of molybdenum (Mo) and copper (Cu) to enhance its corrosion resistance. The presence of molybdenum significantly improves its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, while copper contributes to its overall strength and ductility.
Incoloy 903 is also valued for its good weldability, allowing it to be easily joined using various welding techniques. This makes it a versatile material for applications requiring fabrication and repair.
Beyond its use in chemical processing, power generation, and oil and gas production, Incoloy 903 finds applications in various industries, including aerospace, marine engineering, and the manufacture of heat exchangers, valves, and pumps.
